Education
My Thoughts
Education plays a huge role in the development of any musician, everybody has been taught in some way. Some people take a formal approach by receiving regular lessons and having a rigorous practice schedule; some will attend workshops or jam sessions; and some will learn indirectly from listening to others play.
All of these methods can be and have been successful for many. How successful depends on one thing – practice. No matter how good a teacher you have, how many books you read or how many workshops you attend, it will be how you practice that will really make a difference. A good teacher is there to act as a guide through this process.
Lessons and Workshops
I offer individual lessons in Piano, Theory and Harmony – click here for more info.
I have run many workshops which give groups of musicians a chance to learn about jazz and improvisation methods and to play music with other like minded musicians – amateur and professional alike. I would be very happy to arrange sessions for anyone who might be interested so please get in touch.
I am very happy to answer any questions you may have about education or any of the areas of music mentioned on the site. Whatever instrument you play I will try to answer your questions. Whether you’re looking for a teacher, some practice tips, want to find out more about setting up a workshop or anything else please click here to get in touch.
